CATIA V5 CATIA is the world’s engineering and design leading software for product 3D CAD design excellence. It is used to design, analyze, and manufacture products in a variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, industrial, and consumer goods, among many others. CATIA FUNCTIONAL GENERATIVE DESIGNER  Also built on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, this solution unifies modeling, simulation, and optimization in a single web-based environment. Efficient product engineering tools eliminate bottlenecks that usually make it cost prohibitive to explore optimized parts. Its intuitive workflows and automatic generation of both functional conceptual shapes and detailed organic shapes make it possible to seamlessly collaborate across multiple disciplines and continuously validate new design iterations and variants. While this is often used for additive manufacturing techniques, the quite of tools makes it applicable to all manufacturing methodologies.

CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE is one of several solutions within Dassault Systemes’ 3D EXPERIENCE Portfolio.  CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE contains over 50 roles that support user experiences in mechanical, electrical, systems, and fluids engineering, as well as styling design.  This server-based solution is available in both on Premise and on Cloud deployments, and offers a web-browser based, lean, and intuitive environment for all design and engineering activities. Engineering roles are well served by the tailored, contextual environment and intuitive organization of tasks that relate to the users’ real-life workflows, making it natural to find the right function.  Since the platform is database-based, data and task management remains simple, since everyone always has the latest information within their browsers.

Engineers use all kinds of tools to make their jobs more efficient – that’s what we do! However, from one engineer to the next, tools and efficiencies can vary greatly, and most don’t know all the tools that everyone else uses.

Why not enable these to be safely shared, and build upon your own team’s efficiency?!

Our easy authoring environment and wizards allow rapid app creation, by using your own models! Critical models and intellectual property doesn’t need to be reconstructed, it just needs to be web-browser-enabled. Engineers can easily “appify” their utilities to build your team’s library, and of course revise as needed – to grow with the team.

When done so, critical calculations and processes run on your internal server, exposing only limited information in the browser. User controls can also restrict tool access as necessary, while other administrative tools can be used to build awareness of new and updated apps across your team

Engineering Toolbox

EASY AUTHORING, AND EXCEL WIZARDS! The authoring client is codeless, instead broken into various hierarchical structures that dictate the appearance of the app, its behaviors, any file interactions, and the processes (e.g. your tools) used on the server.

If your team uses a lot of Excel sheets, you’re not alone – while it’s not the most suitable engineering tool, Excel is one of the most widely used applications by the engineering community. That’s why we have an Excel wizard that can quickly appify your engineering spreadsheets in a matter of minutes!

AWARENESS WITHOUT COMPROMISING ACCESS CONTROL. User groups and app categories are easily created and mapped per your organization’s requirements. Fully extensible, app categories are used to organize different types of utilities as needed, such as training materials, production tools, or various analysis types (thermal, structural, etc).

Users are either created manually or via your company’s LDAP, and then assigned to user groups. User groups help to organize teams or roles, and thereby establish access to app categories.  Then, each time a new app is published and assigned to a category, the system automatically establishes who has access to it.

Other features such as login alerts and email notifications can also be used to build team awareness when new apps are added or when existing apps are updated.

BUILT-IN VERSION CONTROLS AND APP FEEDBACK. As team members gain more experience with an app, naturally they want a means of reporting issues or making suggestions. Tool authors can build in feedback mechanisms into their tools and into its various help pages.

Authors can incorporate this feedback, working on a development version of the app until it is ready to update publicly, at which point it can be published as a minor or major version, depending on the extent of the changes.

CUSTOMIZED INTERFACE AND INTEGRATIONS. While the server comes pre-built with all the webpages and menus needed to manage apps, teams, and the associated data, you may want to tweak the appearance of the interface, add menus, or even integrate with other server-based solutions, such as PLM systems.

Appearances can be changed easily through a variety of means (property files, style sheets, jar files, etc), while integrations can leverage Iframes or use the full Web Services Client API.
